The Newlyweds’ Kitchen

Sheraton Edwardian on the Isle of Man

The Challenge

Mr and Mrs Cubbon-Wood had just got married and wanted a kitchen that felt like a celebration of that. Not just functional but genuinely special. A space built for hosting, for Sunday mornings, for the kind of life they were building together. They had an open-plan room with real potential, a list of ideas, and the good sense to trust someone who’d done this before.

The Solution

We started with the Sheraton Edwardian door in Anthracite, a classic profile with real presence, sprayed in a colour that means business without trying too hard. The island became the heart of the room, with a bespoke oak dining table attached to one end so the kitchen and dining space flow into each other rather than competing.

The back wall does a lot of work. We clad it entirely in copper stone veneer, a material that gives texture and warmth you simply can’t get from a tile. A bespoke wine dresser makes preparing drinks on a Friday night a breeze. Pendants hang overhead, casting exactly the right kind of light for a room that’s as much about atmosphere as it is about cooking.

The quartz stone worktop provides the contrast, cool and clean against the richness of the Anthracite and copper. It’s the kind of kitchen you walk into on a Friday evening and immediately feel better.

Client Reaction

  • “We cannot recommend Philip and his team enough. From the first time we met, Philip listened to what we wanted and worked with us to create our vision. We spent countless hours with Philip until we were happy with every last detail. First class service — we couldn’t be happier with the end result.”
