The Contemporary Statement Kitchen
Sheraton Setosa on the Isle of Man
The Challenge
Some clients arrive knowing exactly what they want. This client was one of them. Ultra-modern. Distinctive. Designed for entertaining as much as for cooking. The space was being reconfigured alongside other building works on site, which meant careful coordination and a layout that needed to work harder than most.
The Solution
The Sheraton Setosa inset door was the obvious choice, a door profile so refined it almost disappears, letting the colour and material do the talking. Graphite on the island. Limestone on the surrounding units. Black trims throughout. It’s a combination that’s sharp without being stark.
The island anchors the space. Dekton Bergen worktops wrap around a mitered waterfall, the stone folding over the edge in one seamless piece, the kind of detail you notice immediately and can’t stop admiring. Beneath the surface, an integrated wine cooler and wine rack sit ready for any occasion. Above it, a glass downdraft hood rises when it’s needed and sinks silently back into the worktop when it’s not. The kind of thing guests ask about.
Tall banking units with feature drawer handles give the room its vertical rhythm. Pendant lighting overhead adds warmth to what might otherwise feel like a very cool space. It doesn’t. It feels exactly right.

“Philip was brilliant from day one. Even when we totally changed our plans — requiring the designs to be completely reworked — he wasn’t fazed. There is nothing I would change about the kitchen layout. Everything is exactly where it should be.”
